Hello!

My name is Nick Stevens. I’ve spent the better part of two decades working with my hands… swinging hammers, managing job sites, and learning what it means to build from the ground up. I’ve worked in residential and commercial construction, project management, and Passive House building, but my path has never been just about structures… it’s always been about people, purpose, and transformation.

My journey has taken me across borders and disciplines. I’ve trained in log home construction in Canada, helped build earth structures in France, and job-hopped across the U.S. from California to Vermont. Along the way, I’ve worn many hats such as laborer, insurance adjuster, estimator, and project manager. But no matter the title, what’s stuck with me is how construction reflects the human experience: sometimes messy, sometimes precise, and always full of potential.

Deeper Foundations was born out of a desire to bring more meaning into the trades. This podcast is a space to talk honestly about what we face on job sites and in our inner lives including burnout, ego, identity, purpose, and healing. It’s also a space to explore sacred geometry, natural building, emotional intelligence, and the spiritual side of making things with our hands.

At its core, this project is personal. I’m creating the podcast I wish I’d had earlier in my career… a place to hear real stories, ask better questions, and remember that construction doesn’t have to mean losing yourself. Sometimes, it’s where we find who we really are.
